| , the school was abuzz with excitement as students of grades 4 through 8 displayed their creative and exceptionally professional science projects in the areas of physics, biology, chemistry and earth science. has swept through Bnos Leah Prospect Park Elementry
School as our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders learn a variety of skills on the new, state-of-the-art Dell Computers donated by The Caroline and Joseph S. Gruss Life Monument Funds. The computers are fully loaded with the “Successmaker Courseware” which includes programs in math, reading and spelling. This software is unique in the fact that it focuses on each student’s strengths and weaknesses. Every child works at her own pace on computer assisted instruction projects and the teacher collects a computer report detailing what each child has accomplished and what is their level.
The girls are very excited about the new computers and they eagerly look forward to their computer sessions. “The computers help us learn the material well, and they are fun and very educational at the same time,” said one fourth grader.
“The computer programs reinforce what the children have learned and exposes them to new skills and concepts which they recognize when the teacher introduces them in class” remarked Mrs Klestzick, the Elementry
School Principal, “Presently, grades 3 through 5 receive computer instruction twice a week for 45 minutes and we look forward to offering computer instruction to the Pre-School and Grade 1-3 next year.”
